HD Lace Front Wigs
give the most natural hairline from ear to ear and a big free part area. You can style your frontal wig like your own hair, like freely part it to any direction. With a good lace front wig install, you’ll look flawless during special occasions, casual outings, or even when you’re just chilling out on the couch.

To apply wigs, glue is common but there are a number of other options, too. If you want to know how to put on a lace front wig without glue, sewing, using clips, and wig grips are good options.

Flatten Your Hair for Lace Front Wig Installation:

Making your natural hair lay flat is a step that no one should skip for a flawless lace front wig install. If you apply a lace wig to unprepared hair, the wig may sit too high on your head. Not only will this ruin your style, but it will also reveal that you are wearing a wig.

There are 3 most common ways to prepare your hair for a lace front wig application.

1. Cornrow your hair

One of the most common ways to prep your natural hair is to put it in cornrows. There are several parting patterns to choose from, but the most widely-used pattern for both short and long hair is “straight backs”.

All you’ve got to do is part your hair into seven or more straight-back sections and cornrow each section straight to the back. Gather the ends of the braids together and use some bobby pins to secure them to the back of your head. This will keep them from unraveling.

If you braid your hair down, it will be protected from tangles and your lace front wig will lay flat and sleek.

2. Braids

If your hair is fine, you can put it into a couple of three-strand plaits (braids) and then pin them down to your head. Apply a wig cap afterwards to keep your hair in place.

3. Twists

Twists require less prep time, but hair tends to come out more quickly. Here are some tips to prep sleek twists:

1) Separate hair into multiple sections on your head using clips.
2) Unclip one section and apply a moisturizing cream, using fingers to gently work the product into hair and stretch.  Do the same for each section.
3) Begin taking small sections of hair, splitting into two parts, and tightly twisting towards the nape of the neck. Once you've properly prepped your hair for wig installation, it's time to choose which method to use to secure your wig to your head.

Wearing a Lace Wig With Glue:

The best way to put on a lace front wig is using wig glue. The glue holds the lace securely so that your lace wig stays firmly in place - you won’t have to worry about strong winds, intense physical activity, or accidentally pulling it off.

Here are the products and tools you’ll need to apply your wig with glue:

Wig cap
Wig glue
Bobby pins or hair clips
Rat-tail comb
Alcohol prep pads or rubbing alcohol and cotton balls
Nail cutting Scissors
Eyeliner in white
Blow dryer with a “cool” setting
Silk or satin scarf

And you need to carefully follow the below 11 steps.

Step 1: Flatten Your Natural Hair
Make sure that your natural hair is flat and well-secured, as explained in the previous section. Lay your edges down with some gel or a holding spray. Doing so will help reduce friction between the wig cap and your natural hair.

Step 2: Clean Your Hairline
Use an alcohol prep pad or a cotton pad saturated in alcohol to clean any leftover makeup or debris from your hairline. Be careful not to get the alcohol on your hair, as it will dry it out.

Step 3: Put on a Wig Cap
Put on a wig cap to hold your natural hair in place and create a smooth, flat surface for the wig to sit upon. You can also wear a wig grip if you’d like. A wig grip is yet another way to hold your unit in place. It’s optional for this type of installation but helpful for people who want an extra layer of security.

Step 4: Put on Your Lace Front Wig
Take your wig out of the package and put it on your head. Position it so that it’s in line with your natural hairline. If your wig has an adjustable strap, use it to keep the wig from falling off. Use a white eyeliner pencil to lightly mark where you want the lace to lay; it will help you know where to put the glue in the next step.

Step 5: Cut the Excess Lace Off
Use a sharp scissor to cut away the excess lace around your ears and hairline. Make sure you don't cut too much lace.

Step 6: Apply Wig Glue
Apply your wig glue along your hairline where you made those eyeliner marks.

Step 7: Blow Dry Wig Glue
Use your blow dryer to dry the glue a bit and make it tacky.

Step 8: Glue Your Lace Front Wig Down
Pull your lace forward and press it into the Glue.

Step 9: Clean Excess Glue
Use your alcohol to wipe away any excess glue from your skin. Be extra careful not to get any alcohol on the lace, as it may weaken the glue’s bond.

Step 10: Secure Your Lace Front Wig
Tie the front of your wig down with a silk or satin scarf for at least a half-hour. This will help to strengthen the glue’s bond.

Step 11: Style Your Lace Front Wig
Remove the scarf and style your wig as desired.

Wearing a Lace Wig Without Glue:

Glue-less lace front wigs are extremely popular due to the convenience and look of these wigs. Like the name says, glue-less wigs are full lace front wigs that do not require glue, adhesive, or hairspray, these lace front wigs come with adjustable bands in the back, combs near the temples and the top of the head, and sometimes clips to snap-in, most wigs will come with a combination of two of the three things listed above.

For example, the glue-less lace front wig may consist of an elastic band in the back of your wig, allowing you to loosen or tighten the wig for your comfort and also consist of combs to add more security.

Make sure you have the following products and tools before installing your wig without glue:

Rattail comb
Wig cap
Wig grip
Styling Mousse
Silk or satin scarf

Put on a lace front without glue will require you to take the following 9 steps:

Step 1: Secure Your Own Hair
Take a few minutes to secure your hair using one of the methods outlined earlier. If you have super thick or long hair, cornrowing your hair is the best method to get your hair flat.

Step 2: Apply Wig Cap and Wig Grip
Put on a wig cap and then apply a wig grip on top of that. The wig grip is essential for glueless wig application, as it stops your wig from moving around during the day. Since you won’t be using glue, you should take as many steps as possible to secure your wig. You’ll apply your wig grip just as you would a headband, strapping it in place using the velcro.

Step 3: Place the Wig on Your Head
Put on your lace front wig, make sure it is comfortable on your head.

Step 4: Adjust Wig Size
Locate the adjustable strap inside the wig and pull it over the back of your head. If you need to adjust it, take a couple of seconds to do that.

Step 5: Secure Your Lace Front Wig
If the wig has clips or combs, make sure you stick those into your hair (at the nape of your neck) for added security.

Step 6: Cut the Lace Off
Take small steps to cut the extra lace off so it can blend with your hairline.

Step 7: Lay Your Front Lace Flat
If your wig has bendable ear tabs, fold them so that they take on the shape of the sides of your head.

Step 8: Apply Mousse
Apply a little mousse around your hairline and smooth the hair down. Tie a scarf around your hairline. Doing this will add some weight to the lace and make the hairline lay flat.

Step 9: Style Your Glueless Lace Front Wig
Remove the scarf after about 10 minutes, and style your wig as desired.
